Gilga Basaure has been a facilitator for the Spanish Circle at the Seattle Public Library for almost three years. The Library hosts three, 10-class sessions a year where Facilitators lead and prepare lessons, facilitate conversations, and correct patrons’ use of language. There are at least 15 people in every class and Facilitators—all native Spanish speakers from North, Central, and South America—work individually with an average of four to five people. Gilga says she “loves doing this not only because I practice my language but also because I get to share my culture with other people.”
