Now Available: Electronic Approval Documents through Quorum’s Portal

The world is moving at the speed of e-mail and now your Quorum approval documents can, too. We’ve heard your requests for electronic delivery and we’ve heard your requests for a system that is secure, fast and efficient. Our response is the Quorum secure web portal.

Site Documents Delivered via Quorum’s Portal
On February 20th Quorum rolled out its expanded portal service for sites and investigators. Quorum will send sites that sign up for this service an e-mail whenever an approval document for the site is posted on Quorum’s portal. The e-mail notification will include a link to Quorum’s secure portal through which the site will be able to access the approval documents.

With this service, sites can print documents directly from the portal rather than waiting for delivery in hard copy. Quorum will provide access to the electronic documents almost as quickly as they are finalized. Investigators who use the portal will be able to have study documents in hand one to three days earlier than if they had waited for delivery of the hard copies.

Why doesn’t Quorum just deliver the documents by e-mail? We’ve learned from researchers that e-mails containing large attachments can shut down their e-mail inboxes entirely. Quorum also is committed to protecting proprietary study information and our portal system provides the high degree of security that our researchers and regulators expect.

Many of Quorum’s sponsor and contract research organization (CRO) study contacts were using a limited version of Quorum’s portal. With this expansion of the portal, our sponsor and CRO study contacts now enjoy access to a broader range of approval documents.

All Approval Documents
With the expanded portal, Quorum is posting the full range of IRB approval documents:

  • Initial site approvals;
  • Amended approvals;
  • Site reapprovals;
  • Model ad approvals; and
  • Site-specific ad approvals.

Other IRB correspondence (such as safety acknowledgments and miscellaneous letters) will continue to be delivered in hard copy, pending a portal upgrade later in 2007.

Keeping Them There
All of the posted approval documents will remain on the portal throughout the life of the study. With a username and a password, secure access to IRB approvals will be available anywhere, anytime to the people who need it.

Additional Online Services
Quorum’s portal provides more than a delivery service. With portal access, study coordinators, principal investigators and other study contacts can

  • Make submissions to the IRB in a secure online environment,
  • Access a wider range of Quorum resource documents, and
  • Check the status of initial site submissions.

Our goal with our expanded portal is to extend its utility beyond study startup and to make it a valuable resource for all of our customers through the life of a study.
